Jukebox with LeiRock Interview | ESQ

LeiRock: What is your govenrment and stage name?
ESQ: En'Rico Dion Ray/ESQ.
LeiRock: What is your music background?
ESQ: I am a self groomed hip hop artist with a background in music production.
LeiRock: When and how did you first become interested in music?
ESQ: I became interested in music through my father who had tons of vinyl of old hip hop records. My first favorite record was my "Posse On Broadway" single by Sir Mix a Lot Posse.
LeiRock: Who are your musical influences?
ESQ: My musical influences range from hardcore lyricists like Ghostface Killah and AZ to more flamboyant artists like Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa. My favorite artist of all time would have to be the late Big L.
LeiRock: Which famous musician do you admire and why?
ESQ: I would have to say I admire Kid Cudi seeing that he's the latest great success story from my city. He has the ability to cross over from a hip hop to a pop audience which is genius.
LeiRock: What song have you created that you feel attached to and why?
ESQ: I don't have just one song that I am mainly attached to seeing that I put my all into every record I make but with my single "Get Fly" being the first to receive radio play that would have to be a big one for me. My song "Knock em out" is also another major for me because it captures my sense of determination where it is right now.
LeiRock: Do you have any links where people can find you?
ESQ: I can be seen at my website MeetESQ.com or at these following links:
www.myspace.com/MeetESQ www.twitter.com/enricodion
LeiRock: Is there anything else that you have in mind that you would like to share with public audience and readers.
ESQ: This independent grind ain't easy but its necessary in order to succeed. I'm just your average joe with a savage flow, I plan on being the next big thing and nothing but death can stop that.
